As Associate Publisher, Sky Barsch oversees Vermont Life’s digital assets, including the digital edition and website, as well as creates content such as photo slide shows and videos. She also manages social media, manages marketing, and occasionally (and enthusiastically) writes stories for the publication.
Born and raised in Connecticut, Sky came to Vermont via a Communication degree at Castleton. She was so enamored by Vermont that once she got here, she decided to stay, not even returning home during college summers. She worked as a reporter for the Barre-Montpelier Times Argus and the Burlington Free Press before freelance writing for a variety of publications including E/The Environmental Magazine, Subaru Drive Magazine, The New York Times and the Associated Press. She discovered a passion for the publishing aspect of magazines when she purchased Vermont Sports magazine, which is devoted to outdoor fitness and lifestyle.
Sky likes to live the “Vermont Life-style,” skiing (any type), mountain biking, road cycling, hiking, homebrewing, hanging with her dog, cooking and eating cheese.
